Apply color like a hair stylist would with a color application brush, row by row. Be sure to cover the hair you want to color generously. Leave in at least 30 minutes. Rinse with water only. I don't wash my hair for at least a day before and for 2 days after. No products used for the last wash before color treatment i.e. hair spray, mousee, etc. I only use color maintenance shampoo and conditioner. In the photos, I have used the chestnut color the first time 4 weeks ago, roots only, about 3/4 inch of gray. I just applied color to roots only today about 1/2 inch. I think it's hard to tell where the color from this product ends and the color applied by my stylist begins. I'm very happy with this color and will save about $600 a year.
